A large private housing corporation has won its bid to make significant improvements to one of its properties as part of its plans to modernise its housing stock.
Earlier this year Thirteen Housing Group Ltd applied to Hartlepool Borough Council for planning permission to replace windows with UPVC units in a block of flats in Hartlepool's Hutton Court. The plans reportedly also included new panel cladding, new UPVC fascia boards, soffits, guttering and downpipes, as well as the replacement of all ridge and hip tiles and new roof covering & external alterations such as landscaping.
Hutton Avenue, where the block of flats is located is part of the towns Conservation Area & is known for being an area deemed to be 'problematic' in the granting of planning permission for alterations to properties in the area, with several homes previously finding applications coming up against considerable red tape & bureaucracy before finding plans being rejected as being "out of character with the local area".
However, after no objections to the plans were received, it seems Hartlepool Borough Council planning officers looked upon the plans to improve the block of flats favourably & granted the permission for the works to be undertaken subject to a number of conditions.
The plans reportedly come as part of a wider regeneration project being carried out by the Teesside Landlord which now has homes across Teesside, Newcastle & Hull
