Hartlepool Construction Firm Bridgman IBC Limited Falls Into Administration as The Volatile Economic Conditions In the Construction Sector Claim Another Scalp.
11th March 2026
A Hartlepool construction company employing more than 70 people has entered administration after reportedly amassing significant debts, according to court and financial records.
Bridgman IBC Limited, a building construction firm based at Greatham Street Longhill Industrial Estate,Hartlepool was placed into administration on 6 March 2026 by the High Court of Justice, Business and Property Courts in Manchester.
Insolvency specialists Robert Alexander Henry Maxwell and Ian James Royle of BTG Begbies Traynor have been appointed as joint administrators and will now oversee the company’s affairs, with financial accounts filed at Companies House for the year ending 31 March 2024 showing the company owed £1.445 Million Pounds worth of debt to its creditors falling due within one year with the company employing 74 members of staff.
Administrators will now assess whether any part of the Hartlepool construction business can continue operating, be restructured, or sold in order to maximise returns for creditors.
The collapse highlights the continued pressure facing firms in the construction sector operating in the North East of England, where rising material costs, tight margins and cash flow challenges have pushed a growing number of local firms working in the construction industry into insolvency, with the Teesside & Durham Post previously reporting in Feburary 2026 that Buildroute another local construction firm has been plunged into administartion following similar troubes.
