A much-loved local business with glowing reviews is celebrating even more good news this week after Hartlepool Borough Council granted a renewal of its lease to operate at Summerhill Country Park. Daisy and Bea’s first made its mark in Hartlepool with its café on Villiers Street near Middleton Grange Shopping Centre. The business has then since expanded, bringing its signature warm and welcoming atmosphere to Summerhill Country Park, where it's said to have gone from strength to strength.

Founded by mum-of-two Sara Harvey, 49, the café was born out of her desire to create a family-friendly space where parents with young children could relax and enjoy quality refreshments.

The renewal of the café’s lease has been welcomed by both the business and Hartlepool Borough Council, where HBC Exposed understands the council’s Neighbourhood Services Director, Tony Hanson, approved the extension, citing 'a positive working relationship' that's been developed between the café owners and the council. The success of Daisy and Bea’s at Summerhill has demonstrated the potential for local businesses to thrive in partnership with the council after a turbulent few years for the local council, fostering a sense of community and enhancing the appeal of the park as a destination for both locals and tourists.

Beyond its inviting atmosphere, Daisy and Bea’s is also making a tangible contribution to the local economy, where its said the café serves a delicious range of homemade cakes and scones, alongside freshly brewed coffee, which has won over both regular customers and first-time visitors alike.

With a total of 12 employees across both of its locations, the Summerhill site alone has reportedly created five jobs, further strengthening the local employment landscape.

This lease extension marks a positive milestone for both the café and Hartlepool Borough Council, highlighting the benefits of supporting independent businesses in key community spaces. As Daisy and Bea’s continues to grow and serve the people of Hartlepool, locals can look forward to many more years of great coffee, friendly service, and a welcoming environment at Summerhill Country Park.
