Former Cleveland Police officer to face public misconduct Hearing next month

Questions being asked about 'Extremist' Cleveland Police, as yet another former officer faces a gross misconduct panel...

10th Feb 2026

A public misconduct hearing is set to take place next month in relation to a former Cleveland Police officer accused of breaching professional standards...

The proceedings, set to be heard over three days, will commence on the 4th of March through till Friday 6th of March 2026 at Scotswood House, Thornaby Place, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees.

The hearing reportedly concerns “Former Officer X”, whose identity's not been disclosed in the publicity notice. It's alleged the now former officer breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Equality and Diversity and Authority, Respect and Courtesy.

According to the notice, the allegations centre on conduct which occurred between June and October 2022 involving two probationary officers referred to only as Officer A and Officer B.

In the first instance, it's claimed between July and October 2022, Former Officer X subjected Officer A to unwanted and/or inappropriate behaviour. The notice states that this behaviour was serious enough for Officer A to request that they were never crewed together again. Despite this, it's alleged that Former Officer X continued to subject Officer A to similar behaviour during their probationary period.

A second allegation to be heard at the same hearing relates to Officer B, who was also a probationary officer at the time, where it's alleged that between June and October 2022, Former Officer X subjected Officer B to unwanted and/or inappropriate behaviour.

Its likely that if found guilty, the panel will seek to ban the officer from applying to rejoin the police force for life.

Its the second Misconduct hearing to be held this year in regards to Officers representing Cleveland Police, where a Teesside & Durham Post investigation recently revealed that thirteen officers were currently on suspension from the force with no public confidence, some languishing on suspension for years awaiting their day before a Misconduct panel, with some opting to resign before the hearing takes place.
