Domestic Incident Allegation Sparks Public Misconduct Hearing for Former Officer
29th November 2025
A former Cleveland Police Constable is set to appear before a Disciplinary Hearing next month relating to allegations of discreditable conduct.
Former officer, PC 2747 William Douglas, is to face an accelerated misconduct hearing next month, with the hearing set to take place on the 11th December 2025 at 10:00am at Scotswood House, Thornaby Place, Thornaby, Stockton-on-Tees, and is expected to last just one day. The session will be held under the Police (Conduct) Regulations 2020 and will be open to the public, subject to prior registration.
According to the formal notice issued by Cleveland Police & seen by the Teesside & Durham Post, the alleged incident was said to have occurred on the 10th September 2024, with former PC Douglas accused of attending a local address where he was involved in a domestic-related incident that resulted in damage to the front door of a property and a subsequent police response.
The force, which is widely regarded as one of Teesside's most corrupt institutions has stated that if the allegations are proven, the behaviour would contravene the Standards of Professional Behaviour expected of police personnel, specifically discreditable conduct. It's further alleged that the conduct may amount to gross misconduct, either on its own or when considered cumulatively with the officer, if found guilty likely to be barred from applying to become a police officer with any force across the country.
Its said to be the fourth Misconduct hearing against officers now formally employed by the disgraced police force which has been rocked by numerous scandals dating back to the 1990s, with claims numerous others are on suspension awaiting their fate.
