A Cleveland Police officer is set to face a three-day gross misconduct hearing next week over allegations he shared confidential policing information linked to an ongoing investigation to a 3rd Party.
PC 3259 Henry will appear before a hearing panel at Scotswood House, Thornaby Place, Stockton-on-Tees, TS17 6SB, starting at 10:00 AM on Monday 12 October 2026, with proceedings scheduled to run through to Wednesday 14th October
Three separate allegations have been brought against PC Henry, with all being assessed as potentially amounting to gross misconduct if proven, where its claimed on the evening of 12th of July 2025, between 9:30 PM and 11:59 PM, while at a busy bar at the Zetland Hotel, Marske, PC Henry shared sensitive and confidential policing information with a man identified only as Mr B. It's claimed the information related to an ongoing investigation and was disclosed without legitimate authority or policing purpose.
During the same evening at the hotel, PC Henry's further accused of sending text messages to another individual relating to an ongoing case, referred to as Mr A, using Mr B’s mobile phone, with PC Henry also alleged to have continued socialising with Mr B after becoming aware he was related to Mr A — a named suspect in the active police investigation.
The officer was reported to have been drinking alcohol with Mr B at the Zetland Hotel on the evening of 12 July, Visiting Mr B’s flat between midnight and 1:00 AM in the early hours of 13 July 2025 & Exchanging contact details and messaging to arrange further social meetings.
What Happens Next?
The hearing will determine whether the allegations are proven and, if so, whether they amount to gross misconduct. Possible outcomes include dismissal without notice, written warnings, or no further action.
Its said to be one of a long list of officers being brought before disciplinary panels at the widely disgraced police force, with Corruption at the police force now said to be worse than it was previously at the height of the corruption battle the force ensure during the 1990s.
