Hartlepool Cleaning Business Collapses Leaves Creditors Facing a £232,000 Shortfall

29th April 2026

A Hartlepool-linked cleaning company has collapsed owing almost £269,000 to creditors, newly filed Companies House documents show.

Vulcan Hygiene Limited, entered liquidation last month, with documents revealing the business had total creditor claims of £268,910, the largest amount being owed to HM Revenue & Customs, listed at £258,987, making the tax authority by far the biggest creditor. Despite the scale of the debts, the company’s estimated assets available for preferential creditors were said to have been listed at just £22,306. These included plant and machinery, computer equipment, book debts and cash at bank.

Martyn James Pullin and David Antony Willis, of FRP Advisory Trading Limited, based at Falcon Court, Preston Farm Business Park, Stockton-on-Tees, are now said to be acting as the firms liquidators, where its already been indicated that unsecured and non-preferential creditors are unlikely to ever seen the full amounts owed as the scale of small businesses entering liquidation in Hartlepool & across Teesside seems to be accelerating at breakneck speed.
