Retail Chain which has stores across Teesside including Hartlepool crashes into administration...
5th Sep 2025
Health and beauty retailer Bodycare has collapsed into administration, just weeks after its claimed it was working on a financial restructuring deal to keep the business afloat.
Private equity firm Baaj Capital had recently secured a £7 million pound loan against Bodycare’s dwindling stock, but efforts to stabilise the company appear to have faltered.
The Teesside & Durham Post now understands that company bosses formally petitioned for the company to be placed into administration this afternoon, after running out of options to rescue the struggling retailer. The move reportedly now sees as many as 450 jobs lost, but stores across Teesside so far remain unaffected.
Founded on affordable everyday essentials, Bodycare built its brand on offering skincare, cosmetics, toiletries, and fragrances through more than 100 outlets across the UK.
Administrators will now decide whether the chain can be saved, sold, or forced into complete closure.
