Brash Family Under Fire as Hartlepool Rejects Old Labour Tricks...
10th May 2026
Reeling from a humiliating defeat to Reform UK this week, Labour turned to its local affiliated newspaper in an attempt to shift the responsibility for its losses onto members of the public..True to form, the party insisted the fault lay elsewhere, with the focus quickly shifting to claims of alleged misogynistic abuse faced by the now-former leader of Hartlepool Borough Council during her tenure.
No evidence has been presented to support these claims. Predictably, Mr. and Mrs. Brash faced a backlash online—not just from political opponents, but also from their own supporters. The appointment of the council leader appeared, to many locals, as a stitch-up reminiscent of the controversies seen under previous Ackers Belchers Labour leadership. Add to this the revelation that several Labour ward councillors were being paid as caseworkers for the serving MP, alongside the appointment of his chief donor as Office Manager, and voters clearly..... & rightly connected the dots.
The result? Labour was sent to the opposition, as the public demanded that their gravy train be Derailed.
Throughout their careers, the Brashes have consistently deflected blame. Any publication highlighting their actions is dismissed as “misinformation” or “targeted attacks.” They outright refuse to acknowledge their role in Labour’s downfall in Hartlepool, effectively repeating the same mistakes of their predecessors while assuming voters would simply overlook their transgressions. this week however, the public decisively proved them wrong.
If Mr. Brash genuinely cares about misogyny—or at least how he perceives it—he may need to look closer to home. This is because evidence suggests that many of the issues he cites actually originates from within the Labour party itself, with organisations like the 'Young Fabians' serving as prime examples. Pamela Brash may be running what appears to be a successful business, and that is commendable. However, the manner in which she was then “slid” into leadership roles, including the Chair of the Hartlepool Development Corporation, invites considerable scrutiny, as It mirrored the cronyism of the previous Labour era—a pattern voters rightly rejected yesterday.
The Brashes’ approach has long been to deflect, blame, and belittle members of the public when things go wrong. Social media has often amplified this pattern, with Brash using Facebook as a tool for self-promotion, rather than meaningful engagement which has only magnified the public criticism. This approach highlights a surprising level of naivety from both an the MP and the now former councillor, & while Mrs. Brash has now been ousted from office, questions remain over whether Mr. Brash should now reconsider his own position because people are thinking now as to whether being an MP is truly the right role for a teacher and Labour Party member who is seemingly so detached from reality that it is hard to comprehend how he was ever elected in the first place?
Or Even Selected for the Role to Start With ?
