Proposals for demolishing an existing garage to build three detached dormer bungalows will now go before Hartlepool Borough Council's planning committee next week for a final decision, with Council officers deeming it appropriate to review the plans in a formal meeting, despite the absence of any public objections.

In May last year, STOVELL & MILLWATER LTD submitted an application to Hartlepool Borough Council to redevelop the site of Glenesk Garage on Stockton Road for the construction of three dormer bungalows with associated access.

Planning permission for four properties was reportedly granted for the site back in 1989, although the development was never implemented. Now, its said that a fresh proposal has been submitted and awaits approval from the council.

According to the report set to go before councillors next week, 34 letters were sent to neighbouring properties to inform them of the plans.

While no objections were raised, initial concerns were noted regarding traffic impacts from the new development, potential issues with demolishing the garage, and the preservation of local trees. These concerns prompted council officers to refer the application to the planning committee for a thorough review.

Council officers are expected to recommend approval of the plans, subject to a number of planning conditions being met
