Popular Hartlepool Marina Pub Seeks New Operator..

£11,000-a-Week Hartlepool Pub Looking for Someone New to Take the Helm
29th Sep 2026
One of Hartlepool Marina’s best-known pubs is looking for a new operator, with The Jacksons Wharf being advertised as an opportunity for an individual, couple or team to take over the running of the waterfront venue.
Pub company Marston’s is currently advertising Jacksons Wharf under its Community Wet Partnership model, describing the marina venue as an established business attracting diners, drinkers, families, tourists and local residents throughout the week.
According to Marston’s recruitment information, Jacksons Wharf currently generates average weekly sales of approximately £11,000, with trade reportedly split roughly 50/50 between food and drink.
The prominent venue sits on Hartlepool Marina at The Highlight and benefits from views across the waterfront towards attractions including HMS Trincomalee.
Jacksons Wharf contains a central bar surrounded by five separate trading areas, including dining spaces which can also be used for private functions and events.
The pub also has a substantial outdoor beer patio overlooking the marina, complete with an external television, as well as additional outdoor trading space to the rear.
Marston’s says the opportunity has arisen following an “operator transition”, with the company now looking for somebody capable of developing the business further.
Among the areas highlighted for potential growth are increased use of the pub's outdoor spaces, attracting additional private functions and creating a stronger programme of community events throughout the year.
The company says it is particularly interested in an operator, couple or team with experience of running a food-led pub, alongside the ability to engage with the local community and develop the commercial side of the business.
Jacksons Wharf has long occupied one of the most prominent positions on Hartlepool Marina and remains a familiar venue for residents and visitors.
Marston’s describes the pub as having a strong food reputation and says its waterfront location gives the business opportunities to benefit from major events taking place around the marina.
The pub also comes with private accommodation, a customer car park and facilities for live entertainment, pub games and food service.
Marston’s says prospective operators will normally speak with its recruitment team, meet an area manager and prepare a business plan as part of the application process.
