From the Beat to the Dock: Cleveland Police Officer Faces Misconduct Hearing

5th Feb 2026

An officer working for one of Teessides most Dysfunctional Institutions is set to face an accelerated misconduct hearing after the officer was subsequently remanded into custody.

Referred to only as “the officer,” the case is set to go before an Accelerated Misconduct hearing in Thornaby Stockton on Tees this Friday, once again, raising serious questions about professional standards within the force.

The hearing, to be held at Scotswood House, Thornaby Place, Stockton-on-Tees, follows allegations that the officer breached their bail conditions and defied formal restrictions placed upon them by Cleveland Police’s Professional Standards Department.

According to the public notice issued ahead of the hearing, the officer is accused of attending the home address of a person referred to as Witness B, despite explicit bail conditions prohibiting any contact with that individual or attendance at any address where they might be present. It's further alleged that the officer also made direct contact with Witness B, in contravention of a Regulation 17 notice that had been formally issued to them.

The notice confirms that, as a result of their own admitted actions, the officer is currently remanded in His Majesty’s Prison, underlining the seriousness with which the matter is being treated.

Cleveland Police subsequently assessed the allegations as potential gross misconduct, citing possible breaches of the standards of professional behaviour relating to discreditable conduct, failure to follow orders and instructions, and issues of honesty and integrity. If proven, the breaches would lead to the officers dismissal without notice.

The Chair of the hearing has imposed reporting restrictions on the case, preventing the Teesside & Durham Post from Identifying the officer involved.

The Teesside & Durham Post reported just weeks ago that Cleveland Police had disclosed they had Thirteen Police Officers currently on suspension awaiting either conclusions of investigations made against them or their day before a Misconduct panel.
