A number of reported attempted break-ins to vehicles across the Hartlepool's Town Centre area have been reported this week, sparking an appeal for information.
13th March 2025
Residents in Hartlepool’s Victoria Ward are being urged to remain vigilant following a series of attempted vehicle break-ins were reported overnight.
According to police, the incidents occurred in the early hours of Thursday, March 13, 2025, between 12:30 AM and 3:30 AM, with multiple reports from areas including Duke Street, The Green Sandringham Road, Rodney Street, and Brook Street.

CCTV footage from some of the targeted vehicles shows two individuals—a male and a female—both of slim build attempting to access parked cars. The male suspect was said to have holding a carrier bag and wearing a hoodie, whilst the female suspect, approximately 5ft 4in tall, was seen wearing a coat with a fur-lined hood.
One clip captured the pair systematically trying car doors around 3:30 AM this morning, sparking concerns that they may have been looking for unlocked vehicles to steal valuables or even the cars themselves.
