Locals are set for more financial pain after a local bus company has announced a rise in its fares coming just days after energy prices are expected to soar by more than 2% due to the energy price cap....
Stagecoach has today announced that a series of fare changes will come into effect across Teesside from Sunday 31 August 2025, with the company claiming the adjustments are due to increasing operating costs, which will affect both day tickets and longer-term travel options.
New Ticket Prices
From the end of August, the following fares will apply:
Teesside tickets
DayRider: £6.00
7-day MegaRider: £18.30
Family DayRider: £11.80
Flexi5 (app): £24.00
Flexi10 (app): £42.00
Teesside & Hartlepool Plus tickets
DayRider Plus: £8.00
7-day MegaRider Plus: £23.50
Family DayRider Plus: £14.50
Flexi5 Plus (app): £32.00
Flexi10 Plus (app): £56.00
Young people’s tickets
U19 7-day ticket: £12.50
U21 single ticket: £1.00
U21 Day ticket: £3.00 (unchanged)
Adult Single Fares
Adult single journeys will now be priced in bands of £2.00, £2.20, £2.30, £2.60 and £3.00 depending on distance, with passengers being reminded to state their destination to the driver when boarding.
Longer-Period Products
Stagecoach has also confirmed that there will be some changes to the prices of longer-period products, such as 28-day and monthly passes, available via the Stagecoach app and website.
The move comes just days after OFGEM announced the energy price cap increase & as cost of living pressures continue to mount on already struggling locals.
