A Hartlepool Shopping Centre is set to become a mere shell of its former self after yet another store is set to depart the towns Ailing Middleton Grange Shopping Centre sparking questions over its future.
'The Entertainer' which sells Children's Toys announced earlier this week that it was set to close its doors, marking the announcement with a Closing Down Sale in its window.
The Teesside & Durham Post understands bosses have decided not to renew their lease agreement with the management of Hartlepool's Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, with the departure of the store leaving all but no stores open for business in that part of the shopping precinct sparking debate as to the future of the now embattled shopping centre.
Its currently unknown as to how many jobs will be lost !
The move comes as two further shops are set to leave Hartlepool's Middleton Grange with Clintons Cards & River Island, all set to depart the centre in just months, with Holland & Barratt already closed after announcing just weeks ago they were to concentrate on their in house store available in Tesco's in Belle View Way Hartlepool.
That's led to claims from some locals that the exodus of local businesses leaving the crumbling town centre precinct will lead to its owners, now being the Hartlepool Development Corporation to effectively 'sell off' part of the Middleton Grange Site for potential redevelopment in the not too distant future.
