Durham Police Police have made four arrests, following an incident of alleged violent disorder in Horden yesterday afternoon.
Officers were reportedly called to Eden Lane Park shortly before 4pm after reports of a disturbance. Three men, aged 23, 30 and 51, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, while a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated disorder.
All four remain in police custody.
The investigation is still ongoing, and officers are said to be in the process of identifying other individuals believed to be involved.
In the meantime, its claimed additional patrols are now set to be carried out in the area with police encouraging anyone with information or concerns to approach local officers directly.
