Hartlepool Borough Council has once again turned to Mellor to strengthen its community transport fleet, with the local council confirming the delivery of six brand-new Mercedes-Benz Strata HF vehicles.

The investment is said to highlight the Council’s ongoing confidence in Mellor, representing a 100% commitment to the company’s vehicles for essential transport services across the town.

Its claimed Each of the new Strata HF minibuses can carry either 16 passengers or up to 7 wheelchair users, offering much-needed flexibility for Hartlepool’s varied transport needs. Built on a Mercedes-Benz chassis with automatic transmission, the vehicles are designed for reliability, ease of use, and accessibility.

The new fleet will be used across several vital areas of community life – from home-to-school transport and adult care services to wider community transport initiatives.

According to Hartlepool Borough Council, the choice to continue with Mellor was due to the reliability of the Mercedes-Benz platform and the flexibility of the Strata HF model as key reasons for the decision as the local council continues to upgrade its ageing vehicle fleet .

Jordan Stewart, Head of Transport Services at Hartlepool Borough Council, praised the process stating:

“We had good service from initial contact with the experienced Area Sales Manager advising on the vehicles available, including arranging tail lift demonstrations. The order was processed quickly and efficiently during the pre-build meeting. Communication was excellent throughout, and delivery surpassed our expectations.”

Mellor’s continued support – from consultation to delivery – has helped Hartlepool Borough Council ensure its transport services remain reliable, accessible, and adaptable to the changing needs of residents.
