Nine Jobs Affected As Long-Running Hartlepool Firm Foster Laws Closes

A Hartlepool based metal works company which had been trading for nearly 60 years has closed its doors for the final time, after members for the company passed a resolution to voluntarily wind up the business.
Foster Laws & Company Ltd, had been part of Hartlepool’s business community for almost 59 years, however its claimed at a General Meeting held late last month, members of the company passed a special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily following the retirement of its owner.
The closure has prompted sadness locally, with many saying the company had built up a good reputation, with the news marking the apparent end of yet another long-running Hartlepool name at a time when many small and medium-sized firms continue to face difficult trading conditions, rising costs, and pressure across the wider economy.
The business had nine employees according to its most recent filled accounts, with the notice of its official winding up process being published in the insolvency notices of the London Gazette.
